The influx of American investors is growing in Italy. A group of investors led by the Boston Celtics co-owner reached an agreement to buy a 55% stake in the company that owns the majority stake in Atalanta.

According to the management of the Bergamo-based club, the Percassi family will retain 45% of the shares of La Dea, the holding company that owns about 86% of Atalanta. The rest will now belong to the new investors.

In fact, according to an announcement issued by "Bergamaski", it is stated that Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio S.p.A. announces the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Perkassi family and a group of investors led by Stephen Palioucas, co-owner of the Boston Celtics, and co-chair of Bain Capital, one of the world's leading investment funds.

The agreement provides for the entry of new investors with a total of 55% in the share capital of La Dea Srl ("La Dea"). The Perkasi family will maintain its 45% share. La Dea is the subsidiary of the Percassie family, which owns approximately 86% of Atalanta.

The Percassi family will remain the main sole shareholder and governance will be the expression of an equal partnership: Antonio and Luca Percassi will continue to hold the position of president and CEO of Atalanta, respectively, while Stephen Paliuca will be appointed co-president of the association.

The group of young investors includes leading professionals with deep experience in the football and sports industry in general. And for this reason, the cooperation aims to strengthen the club and the team, with the aim of further improving the sporting and financial results - in addition to the remarkable - that have been achieved so far.

The commitment is to guarantee the club an even greater future inside and outside the country, increasing the brand's recognition outside Europe, expanding Atalanta 's talent network and opening the door to new opportunities for business partnerships and use of innovative technologies for the management - sports and financial - of the club.

All this in the declared desire to never relax Atalanta's strong roots in the Bergamo area and the close relationship with its supporters.

The president of Atalanta, Antonio Percassi, stated characteristically: "My family and I took this opportunity to grow our team by choosing to stay connected to the club, to which in more than 10 years we have brought results that no one may have would expect from a provincial team.

Atalanta, in whose classes I played in the 1960s, is in my heart as well as in the hearts of thousands of fans who support it. Great challenges await us and I believe that the collaborations with such high-profile investors will only bring success in our development course ".

Stephen Paliouka, the club's future co-president, said: "We are extremely happy to be working with the Perkasi family and to support the future development of the club.

The Atlanta and Boston Celtics share the same sporting values: team spirit and a unique bond with their supporters and communities.

We believe that the Percassi family has built a very solid foundation on which it can work together for a global brand enhancement, with the aim of encouraging further diversification and revenue growth, allowing the club to become increasingly competitive on an Italian and international scale. Arsenal failed to maintain the euphoric atmosphere that existed after the imposing 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Their tank was almost... empty, stuck at 1-1 against Brentford, and now Mikel Arteta's team seems to be raising the white flag in the championship battle!. Now Arsenal is turning its attention exclusively to the Champions League, where after the 3-0 win, it seems to have a big lead to qualify for the semi-finals of the top club competition in Europe, if not the world.
