The "Best FIFA Football Awards 2022" will be held on February 27 in Zurich

Οn February 27, 2023, the event for "The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022" will take place in Zurich, the awards given by the world football federation to the top players in each position, regardless of league or nationality, for their respective achievements during the period between August 8, 2021 and December 18, 2022, the date of the FIFA World Cup final.

 

Voting in each category for fans will begin on January 12. These are the prizes:


1. FIFA's best female player

2. FIFA's best male player

3. FIFA's best female coach

4. FIFA's best male coach

5. FIFA's best female goalkeeper

6. FIFA's best male goalkeeper

7. Women's Top XI

8. Men's Top 11

9. Fair Play Award

10. Puskas Award (for the best goal of the year)

11. Fan Award

 

The voting is done by the captains of the national teams who are members of FIFA, the coaches, the fans online and by journalists.


Last year, Spain's Alexia Putellas and Robert Lewandowski were named the best players in women's and men's football respectively, with the Polish striker picking up the award for the second consecutive year.


Emma Hayes and Thomas Tuchel, both at Chelsea FC at the time, were voted the best female manager and the best male manager. While Edouard Mendy scored a hat-trick for the London club as the best male goalkeeper. Christiane Edler, meanwhile, was named the best female goalkeeper.
