The name of Frenchman Christophe Galtier appeared as the most likely to take over the technical leadership of Napoli, but in the end his compatriot and much more experienced Rudi Garcia was preferred. The latter was previously Cristiano Ronaldo's coach at Al Nasr in Saudi Arabia and was fired on April 13. Now Garcia, who has worked again in Italy, in Roma will be the replacement of Luciano Spalletti as announced first by the president of the Italian champion, Aurelio de Laurentis and then by the team, on Thursday night (15/6).
"I have the pleasure to announce that after getting to know him and meeting during the last ten days, Mr. Rudi Garcia will be the new manager of Napoli. Welcome and good luck",
said the owner and president of the Partenopei, Mr. de Laurentis.

Rudi Garcia immediately gets to work preparing the team for next season as now things will be much more difficult, since he will also participate in the UEFA Champions League with high ambitions.
Garcia "made" his name in France as coach of Lille who he led to the championship in 2011. In 2013 he tried his hand at Serie A for the first time, staying for 2.5 seasons on the bench of AS Roma, then working in Olympique Marseille (went with her to the Europa League final in 2018) and Olympique Lyon.
A two-year contract with an option on the third season has been studied for the former CR7 coach at Al Nassr, with the salary that will be 3 million euros plus an additional bonus linked to the team's results.
