One of the big stars who wrote their own special story in the Greek championship, is without a doubt the international Hungarian forward, Imre Boda. The strong and skilled center forward played in our country from 1988 to 1993. He was born in Zolnok on October 10, 1961. He started his career in 1973 in the infrastructure departments of MTK, while in 1980 he was promoted to the first team. He played there until 1987, scoring 58 goals in 190 league games. Then he went for a short time, on loan to Vasas. In the summer of 1988 he was acquired by Olympiakos Volou. His move to Greece caused a great sensation. In fact, Olympiacos and PAOK were interested in Imre, but in the end, the Volos team prevailed.
In the team of Magnesia, Imre Boda, a fast, strong, nice dribbler, managed to become the top scorer of the league in the 1988-89 season with 20 goals. He even surpassed the great name of the time and his compatriot, Lagios Detari who played at Olympiakos (he remained at 15 goals). In his second year at Olympiakos Volos, Boda did not let him score more goals (in 15 games 10 goal).
His name was heard with respect in every stadium. The next season, Volos played in the B-category. In the first round he scored 10 goals, but in January OFI took him with a transfer. His passage from the team of Crete was not as good, maybe even disappointing. In the first season he scored only 5 goals in 20 appearances, while in the second he had 4 appearances without scoring but left the team in December 1991. He returned to Olympiakos Volou, which participated in the BD National, where he played until 1993, when he returned to his homeland he played in BSK Budapest, where he hung up his shoes. Imre Boda also played 8 times for the Hungarian National Team, scoring 3 goals.
Manos Staramopoulos found Imre Boda, talked to him about the situation with the coroner in Hungary, the current talents,
Messi, Qatar and various other interesting topics…

Italy and Portugal will not play in Qatar ... "
