Sadness for Panathinaikos and Greek football. Yannis Dontas, who served the clover from 1982 to 1986, passed away at the age of just 65.
Yiannis Dontas was born in 1958 in Athens and first played professional football for Apollon Athens. Then in the summer of 1982 he was acquired by Panathinaikos. He competed for 4 years at Panathinaikos playing in various positions from right back, left, stopper, midfielder wherever the team needed him.

Zakynthos was lucky in the 1989-90 season to admire him as a football player while he was also a coach together with Nikos Papalamprou who has also passed away. Together they replaced the late Stelios Skevofylakas on the bench. Played 5 times in national team of Greece..
He was an excellent child who had only friends everywhere….
