Inter Miami defeated Porto 2-1 in the second round of the Club World Cup 2025 group 1. Leo Messi was the great star of his team scored the final goal.

Leo Messi scored the second goal of Inter Miami for his victory 2-1 about Porto.

Inter Miami, coached by former Argentine international midfielder Javier Mascherano, defeated Porto 2-1 in the second round of the Club World Cup group stage in the United States, Group 1.

Lionel Messi, just before his 38th birthday, proved his worth once again. He led his team Inter Miami to an impressive 2-1 comeback against Porto. With a magical free kick in the 54th minute, the Argentine superstar gave the victory to the US team, which is now in a strong position to qualify for the round of 16.

With this success, Inter Miami now has 4 points in Group 1 of the competition, the same as Palmeiras. Porto and Al Ahly are on the same point, one matchday before the knockout stages.

Quite early, just in the 8th minute, the score opened at the “Mercedes-Benz Stadium” in Atlanta. The Greek-American left-back Noah Allen brought down striker Joao Mario and with the help of VAR, a penalty was awarded to Porto (it was certainly an extremely questionable moment). The tall center forward Samu Omorodion accurately executed the last penalty and opened the score for the Portuguese early on.

The Dragons missed important opportunities to double their lead, with Joao Mario missing a one-on-one in the 43rd minute and Varela sending the ball against the post a minute later. However, Inter Miami managed to turn the score around in the second half. First, in the 47th minute, Segovia equalized at 1-1 with a superb shot and then… the magician spoke! In the 54th minute, Messi scored with a stunning free kick for 2-1, which also gave his team the victory.
