The Golden Ball to Rodri, The Best award to Vinicius! The Brazilian winger was named the best footballer in the world at the FIFA event held in Doha, Qatar, after an impressive season with Real Madrid where he won the Championship and the Champions League.
So he may have lost the Golden Ball (the noblest and most important individual award in the world) in early October, but on Tuesday, December 17, he won the FIFA The Best Awards as the best footballer in the world!.
The “Golden Ball” had ended up in the hands of Manchester City’s Spanish midfielder, Rodri. However, in the awards organized by the World Confederation, Vinicius Junior was named the winner for 2024.
The Brazilian striker may have missed out on the ultimate individual distinction by finishing in second place in the voting, but he made... a comeback at The Best awards.
This is certainly another achievement for the Brazilian, who last season... swept with Real Madrid, winning the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

Messi voted for Yamal

After all, there are many times that Messi has dripped… honey when talking about the wonder kid, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal. The Argentine superstar even voted him for the top player in the FIFA The Best awards.
Goalkeeper Martinez
Another distinction for Emiliano Martinez! The Argentine goalkeeper was named the best goalkeeper in the world for 2024, capitalizing on his impressive performances with Aston Villa and the Argentina national team in the best way.
