The management of Manchester United under the instructions of the second richest Briton
Sir Jim Rattcliffe, is said to be determined to strengthen as much as possible its Dutch coach,
Erik ten Haag, before presenting a very strong and competitive team in the new season. So now it has as its transfer target the suspended midfielder of Paris Saint-Germain,
Manuel Ugarte.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan defensive midfielder won the double with Paris this season, while he played in 37 games in total. But as his Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, did not have him as a starter but used him one time and the other not, he decided to look for his luck elsewhere.
Ugarte has a contract with the French club until 2028. And his market value is currently around 45 million euros. He has expressed his desire to go elsewhere to continue his career for example in Manchester United.
But the Parisian team is asking for too much money, 70 million euros to sell him and Manchester United does not seem determined to pay such a large amount.
United have made several swoops for Ugarte, receiving a negative response from the French side. But it is believed that he will continue to pressure Paris in the hope that at some point there will be a consensus...
