Paris Saint-Germain is said to be luring the German international with a leading role. But what are the French champions' chances?.

Paris Saint-Germain is very interested in Joshua Kimmich. The 29-year-old is even said to be in line for the role of midfield boss at the French capital club, according to the corresponding media report.

Kimmich himself has played as a right-back at FC Bayern and in the German national team in recent months.

Munich coach Vincent Kompany is not planning to use the veteran in central midfield. On the right side of defense, there is currently great competition from Josip Stanisic, Sacha Boey and Noussair Mazraoui. The latter could still leave the club.

And Kimmich? The German European Championship driver is only tied to the record champions until 2025. Recently there has been repeated speculation about a potential transfer.

How is Kimmich planning his future?

"He still has a year left on his contract. We agreed that we would talk to each other after his vacation," explained Bayern's sports director Max Eberl in an interview.

Kimmich is "a very good player, but it is generally true that professional football is a competitive sport - we cannot say to any player per se: Hey, you are the one who is set," explained the 50-year-old. But this principle applies to everyone, Eberl added.

No decision has yet been made as to whether the relationship between FC Bayern and Kimmich will continue or not. Paris Saint-Germain is likely to keep an eye on the personnel issue. Kimmich himself is said to be unable to come to terms with the idea of moving to Paris with his family.

According to reports, Kimmich is "not thinking of leaving" FC Bayern any time soon. The right-footer apparently wants to prove himself under Kompany. He has already lost his job as a coach at Bayern Munich...
