Harry Kane was the absolute star at the party of his 100 appearances and with two goals he gave England victory (2-0) against Finland, at a packed Wembley.
Kane was awarded before half-time against Finland for his 100th cap and... celebrated the historic achievement with some impressive goals. Frank Lampard (former Chelsea international ace) presented him with a golden cap (as usual) and the Bayern Munich forward made sure to please the Brits by scoring two goals.
The "Three Lions" eased to a 2-0 win over Finland to claim their second win in the group, following the double in Ireland. Thus, England is tied with Greece at the top of the group.
The England national team was in control in the first half. He pressed in control of the match with a percentage of 77%, but he was able to breach Hradecky's goal. The English tried, but Finland held on and went to the dressing room with nil in defence. However, Harry Kane made sure on his night to calm down the English, after he sent the ball into the opponent's net in the 58th minute. A mistake in the defense of the Finns and the Bayern forward with an impressive finish reached 68 goals for his country, in 100 games!.
The hosts continued the pressure and in the 76th minute, Kane made it 2-0 again with a nice goal. Kane has been involved in 85 goals in 100 appearances for England (68 goals, 17 assists), while 27 goals have been scored at Wembley, the most of any England international at the venue.
Meawhile Kane has won 30 of his 100 caps at major tournaments for England (eleven at the FIFA World Cup, 18 at the EUROs), more than any other player in England’s history. He is also England’s record scorer at major tournaments with 15 goals.
Only Wayne Rooney (27) has made more appearances for England in UEFA European Championship qualifiers than Kane (21). His record in these qualifying games is exceptional – Kane has 23 goals and eight assists in 21 matches, averaging a goal or assist every 49 minutes.
