As the second transfer window approaches, the various scenarios and of course the interest are heating up. Teams that believe they need to improve themselves will, as always, make the necessary moves.
The first name at the moment that seems to attract the interest of several important clubs in Europe is none other than the 25-year-old Swedish forward of Sporting Lisbon, Victor Gyokeres. His name is widely on the lips of fans and, even more so, of various officials and coaches.
Of course, to acquire him in the winter, someone will have to pay the value of the clause of 100 million euros, while as reported by the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola", in the summer market "Sporting's management admits that it is negotiating and the value for starting talks is set at 70 million. euros, with more targets that will increase the cost in the medium/long term”.
However, Sporting has made it clear that in January the 25-year-old Swedish forward will not be released. The only case for him to leave is if the clause is paid in full.
We are at the beginning of December and the Swedish international striker has already scored
24 goals in 21 games for Sporting and still has 9 in 6 matches for his national team.
If we take into account that he has already scored 5 goals in the UEFA Champions League, with a hat-trick against Manchester City, it is not surprising that all the big clubs in the major European leagues are interested.
His former coach, Ruben Amorim, in his last interview before leaving for Manchester United, had pointed out that "I am Portuguese, I love my country, I do not intend to move for a Sporting player for the time being". Leaving it clear that at least in the January period he will not move for Gyokeres. Of course, in football and in the era we live in, everything changes in a flash.
So no one should rule out the possibility that Amorim, who knows Gyokeres very well, will now suggest his acquisition...
But other teams are also showing interest in Gyokeres, including FC Barcelona, which wants to have the successor to the Polish
Lewandowski ready. Finally, it should be noted that Victor Gyokeres' contract with Sporting Lisbon expires in June 2028.
