Portuguese international midfielder Ruben Neves is Al Hilal's new big transfer hit. The 26-year-old footballer signed a 3-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club on Friday (23/6).

The English Wolves did not reveal specific details, but underlined that Neves (signed his contract in Paris) moved for a record fee, which reaches 55 million euros.

"No other footballer has had a greater impact on the pitch for our club over the last 6 years having played more than 250 times in a remarkable period in the club's history," Wolves said in a statement. The 26-year-old footballer scored 30 goals in 253 appearances in all competitions with the Wolves.

“What an incredible trip. A big thank you to every person with whom I had the opportunity to work, every moment was unforgettable," said a tearful Neves in an emotional farewell video, adding that "...to all the players who were part of the club for the past six years, I will only say that you will be my friends for life.

The way we protected the team was really incredible. I'm leaving as a player, but I'll always be a "wolf". Whatever happens. Thank you for everything and I'll see you on the field one day..."

Al Hilal is the most decorated club in Saudi Arabia and Asia, having won 66 trophies and holds the Asian league and Champions League record with 18 and 4 respectively.

Meanwhile, the management of Wolves does not intend to keep both the goalkeeper, Jose Sa and the winger Daniel Podence. He has told them that they must seek their fortunes elsewhere and bring suggestions.
