The management of Bayern Munich dropped the big "bomb" on Thursday night (23/3), suddenly deciding to end its cooperation with Julian Nagelsmann, whose place is taken by Thomas Tuchel, who had left Chelsea at the beginning of last September.

The decision of the Bavarians, who are not used to making such drastic changes in the middle of the season, was a surprise.
The management of Bayern, although the Munich team made an impressive "8 out of 8" this year in the UEFA Champions League, they were very irritated with their "poor" efficiency in the Bundesliga, where they have only 52 points in 25 matches (the lowest harvest of the last 11 years), now behind Borussia Dortmund.
The highlight was Bayern's last-gasp defeat (and upset) by Bayer Leverkusen (2-1), with the club's sporting director (and footballing mastermind) Hasan Salihamidzic deciding to sack 35-year-old Nagelsmann (who three years ago had been considered the new "prodigy" of coaching in Germany with his run at Leipzig) despite having a contract until 2026, believing he was unable to meet the demands.
In fact, Salihamidzic, since last year, "charged" Nagelsmann for the "shock" elimination by Villarreal in the "8" of the UEFA Champions League, as well as the loss of last year's German Cup. While at the same time he wanted to cause an overall "electric shock" to the team in view of the big (and decisive) derby against Borussia Dortmund on April 1 (after the "window" of the National Teams), but also the big games that follow with Manchester City in "8" of the Champions League.
According to Germany's Bild, the 35-year-old coach was skiing in Austria's Zillertal on Thursday night when he was informed of the sacking. Nagelsmann has won 60 of his 84 games in charge of Bayern (71.4%), having joined the club in July 2021, winning the Bundesliga and two German Super Cups during his tenure. His record in the Champions League this season is eight wins in eight games, but it was not enough to remain in charge of the team.
Nagelsmann, in his statement, emphasized that "I have no information about this from the Bayern administration", but the decision has already been made and Tuchel will sign a contract with the Bavarians until the summer of 2025. With the 49-year-old technician returning to his homeland after 6 years in France (Paris Saint Germain) and England (Chelsea).
Bayern Munich, who have won the last 10 Bundesliga titles in a row, are in 2nd place in the league table, one point behind their big domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund.
After his bitter exit from Bayern, Nagelsmann emerged as a candidate to take over at Tottenham if Daniel Levy sacks under-pressure manager Antonio Conte before his deal expires this summer.
A special agreement is expected to be reached by Bayern with Julian Nagelsmann as the 35-year-old coach will continue to belong to the employees of the Bavarian club without having any role in the team.
Specifically, no layoff is expected, but Nagelsmann will continue to be paid normally until he finds a new team, as he reportedly receives 666,000 euros per month!
Finally, this removal seems to have ramifications in the personal life of the German coach. According to Bunte.de and other German media, Nagelsmann's girlfriend and Bild journalist is resigning from her position to support him.
Nagelsmann and Lena Wurtzenberger had met at work, as the Bild journalist covered Bayern. When their relationship became known, the management of Bild decided to change her role, with her dealing with local issues...
