The italian head coach, who knew that he was sitting on a "tight rope", fought his battle and won it. He`s now a hero in Stamford Bridge.

The Italian coach, who as a footballer had passed through Olympiacos and had successfully competed as a defensive midfielder, is now unwavering at Stamford Bridge. Thus, the Londoners' management is justified in its choice, when in the summer of 2024 it decided to take him from Leicester (which had brought them back to the top division).

Enzo Maresca's smile shortly before the final of the Club World Cup final against Paris, was the Italian Chelsea coach's response to those who doubted him during last season.

The truth is that there were not a few who had doubted the abilities of the 45-year-old Italian coach of the Londoners. Especially when 2 months ago Chelsea showed that it would be difficult to prevent its exit in the upcoming UEFA Champions League. And yet Maresca, who knew that he was sitting on a "tight rope", fought his battle and won it.

Chelsea will appear in the League Face of the Champions League. At that time, there were not a few who believed that the choice of the team's leaders was not the best possible.

But come on, he who laughs last laughs best. And Maresca's laughter shortly before the final against Paris, revealed his mental euphoria.

Of course, we must admit that there were difficult moments during last season, but the Italian, after winning the expanded Club World Cup, is now unwavering and enjoys the trust of everyone and above all those managing the blue team.

The successes with...good morning

Enzo Maresca with good morning completely succeeded in the extremely difficult task he undertook. He led the English team to win the Conference League. He secured its participation in the new season's Champions League and also won the Club World Cup.

Things that one can hardly think that someone can achieve in his first season with a team. And yet Maresca, taking stock of his first season on the bench of the "blues" or better to be precise, the Italian did excellently.

The mission he took on was not easy, not at all. And from day one he had to face the distrust of many of the team's fans and a large part of the English press.

What did Maresca do to succeed? He ignored the distrust and devoted himself to his team, a "recipe" that proved to be particularly functional for the capital's players.

Things have changed

To the point that now everyone recognizes the work of the 45-year-old coach. They even point out that Chelsea is in a position to compete with Liverpool, City and Arsenal for the 2025-2026 Premier League title.

We must remember what Maresca had said after winning the Conference League: "I hope it will be a starting point and that we can build something important. The fans deserve it. They've been waiting for this for 2-3 years. The club has invested a lot of money in the last 3-4 years, so they expect results..." And so it happened. Chelsea made a new start which shortly afterwards led them to the top of World Football, winning the Club World Cup, where in the final against the favorites, Paris Saint-Germain, they were amazing and defeated them 3-0.
