Chido Obi-Martin is only 16-years-old but is set to take European football by storm over the next few years, especially now that he has joined Manchester United. Or at least that's what the leaders of the "red devils" who fought to get him claim.
Chido Obi-Martin is the latest addition to the Manchester United squad. The youngster confirmed the transfer via social media, saying:
"I'm very happy to sign for this club, it's time to focus and make all my dreams come true."
The 16-year-old star, a product of Arsenal's academy, became a household name in the football world last November when he scored 10 goals against Liverpool in an under-16 game.
Obi-Martin left the Gunners last summer after his contract expired. The agreement with United had already been reached, but only now has the transfer been approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.
At the North London club, Obi-Martin, who has already featured for Denmark's youth team, trained with Arsenal's first team under Mikel Arteta. But, he wanted to head to Manchester because there, according to "Sky Sports", he will have a clearer path to glory.
Last season, the young striker scored 32 goals in 21 games for Arsenal's under-18s. Of course, things are changing now and his primary aim will firstly be to establish himself in the Red Devils' under-18 squad and then try to impress the club's senior manager, Erik ten Hag.
The 1.88m youngster has become a big sensation in English football and the higher-ups at the FA are trying to "recruit" him to play for their national team.
Chido Obi-Martin is really dominant because of his physique, but also very quick. He has also represented Arsenal in the UEFA Youth League in both fixtures against Sevilla, as well as in Premier League 2.
