The name Tassos Bakasetas is now. Synonymous with the executor of amazing fouls. Even the president of Trabzonspor, Ahmet Agaoglu, after the wonderful goal he had scored against Fenerbahce in one of the most important derbies of the Turkish championship, asked him: "Well, how are you doing?"
And of course the leader of the national team of Greece, born in Petri, Corinth 28 years ago, smiled with satisfaction. He knows very well how much he has worked to achieve this, but also to play today in the champion of the Turkish championship, which in January 2021 invested in him, acquiring him from Alanyaspor.
So Bakasetas together with the 35-year-old, Slovak,
Marek Hamsik are the two superstars of their team, followed by Siopis...
Manos Staramopoulos and Discoveryfootball.com met Tassos recently on our trip to beautiful Trabzon, and once again showed why he is so dear to everyone. With the first you see a child calm, smiling, without traces of fanaticism.
But in order for Tasos to reach high, he worked hard, he got tired. Sweat literally. There were times in his career when some did not pay due attention to him. But he, strong as a bull, did not despair and now enjoys the trouble. He knows very well that in football, everything comes and goes.
He wants to contribute with all his strength so that this year Trabzonspor will finish in the lead, where it is now, and give joy and satisfaction first of all to the 600,000 inhabitants of beautiful Trabzon. Where everyone respects, loves and deifies him every time they see him.
"Consecutive victories bring us closer and closer to what we all believe. All the energy of the city falls on the team, but this does not put any pressure on us, although in these cases the opposite usually happens. It is good and useful for the Turkish championship for Trabzonspor to win the title. "This interests me above all," says Bakasetas with a smile.
Tassos started his football career from the infrastructure departments of Asteras Tripolis. In 2010 he was promoted to the first team, taking the number 12 on the jersey. During the transfer period of January 2011, he was loaned to Thrasyvoulos Fylis.
He returned to Asteras Tripolis at the end of the 2010-11 season. Shortly afterwards, in January 2014, he went on loan to ARIS for 6 months. He returned to Asteras as soon as his loan expired. In the summer of 2014 in the home match against Finland, Rovaniemi scored his first goal in a European tournament, which was his team's 4th in that match, consolidating the victory of the Arcadians and effectively securing the qualification to the next round of UEFA Europa League (2014-15). Five months later, in January 2015, he terminated his collaboration with the Tripoli team, to continue at Panionios, with which he signed a 2-year contract.
In June 2016 he transferred to AEK, signing a 3-year contract. In June 2019, he joined the Turkish Alanyaspor, where he remained for two years and began to unfold his true value. He played in 53 games, scoring 17 goals. His name began to be written in big letters in the Turkish sports media. And shortly after, Trabzonspor comes and includes him in its potential, something that caused excitement in the ranks of its fans. On February 14, 2021, he made his first appearance with his new team.
When he set foot in Trabzon, he immediately felt very beautiful.
"From the first moment I came here, I realized that there is a common culture and common details with Greece, which was very important. What can I say that these elements were very important for my adaptation. As in Greece, so the people here are absolutely passionate about football. That's why I was never surprised. "From the first moment I came to Trabzon, I was almost used to Trabzon."
Regarding the Turkish championship.
"As for the organization, I must say that I found it really successful in terms of the start of the championship, the end of the championship and all the details. There are important details for footballers. . Here for example, if we are talking about stadiums, every Sunday we play in a big stadium and in a great atmosphere. These are important details for players. "At the same time, I believe that the Turkish Super League is at a level that can compete financially with most leagues."
See you in May Tassos with the title of champion!
