Juventus may have a lot of problems to deal with, but the strengthening of the team is not open to discussion. So ahead of the new competitive season and wanting to star again (something he couldn't do last season) he moved quickly and acquired 23-year-old (born February 22, 2000) American striker, Timothy Weah.

In order to acquire the talented American football player, "Vecchia Signora" paid Lille the amount of 10.3 million euros.

In fact, the management of Juventus reports that the total amount can be increased by 3.1 million euros based on bonuses for achieving goals. Since the team is trying to find a replacement for long-time winger Juan Cuadrado, whose contract was not renewed and the player left.

Weah, who started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, spent four seasons at Lille where he made more than 100 appearances, winning league titles with both clubs.

He also won the double in Scotland with Celtic when he was on loan at the "Catholics" in the 2018/2019 season.

"In Lille he celebrated the championship in the 2020/2021 season and the French Super Cup the following year," Juventus says in its announcement and continues:

"Six consecutive years full of victories have 'transformed' Timothy into a versatile player, capable of covering both the team's defense and attack, making him an all-round wing-back."

The 23-year-old has 29 caps for the US national team, scoring four goals, and is set to become the second player with the same surname to play for Italy after his father (Liveriano) George, a former Ballon d'Or winner, who scored 58 times for Milan and is currently the President of Liberia.

Now young Weah has before them every opportunity to show how much he counts...

Guardiola’s team spent a lot of money in an attempt to “freshen up” its squad but at the same time to do their best in a season that admittedly seems unrecognizable and out of its depth.
