The Italian coach of Tottenham, Antonio Conte is proceeding with the creation of a strong Tottenham which, in the new competitive season that starts in early August, will be able to present itself more competitively. Conte may not openly say it, as he believes in himself that the new Tottenham can be a thorn for both the title holder, Manchester City, and for the second in the last season's hierarchy, Liverpool.
So far, neither more nor less, Tottenham has entered the transfer game strongly and has made 6 transfers, some with loans, but with free agents and of course others with a cost of money.
Until now, the most impressive move of the spurs is without doubt the acquisition of the 25-year-old Brazilian winger, Richarlison, who he took from Everton paying the amount of 69 million euros.
Then follows the inclusion of the Brighton midfielder, Yves Bissouma, for whom he paid 29.2 million euros, and now with 15 million euros he also took the young Middlesbrough full-back (last year he played on loan at Nottingham Forest) Jed Spence. which is also her 6th transfer this year.
The 21-year-old Spence managed to stand out last season, so he did not leave the "spurs" unmoved, who moved quickly and made sure to include him in their lively team.
After Ivan Perisic (free-Inter), Fraser Forster (Southampton-free), and Clement Lenglet (Barcelona-loan), Antonio Conte added Spence to Tottenham's roster for the new season, with the player signing a 5-year contract .
Meanwhile the international center forward and leader of the spurs who in recent years wanted to continue his career at another club, now alongside Conte has started to change his mind. He acknowledges that Tottenham, who have failed to win trophies in recent years, are turning things around under Antonio Conte and believes that the new season will be completely different for the North London club. So he also feels better and has not (until now at least) opened up a conversation about his possible departure. Spurs have not won a major trophy since their EFL Cup success in 2008.
A run of five goals in the last five league games from Kane took Tottenham into Europe, with the England international finishing his first season with 17 goals.
This marked Kane's lowest Premier League tally in his eight seasons as a first-choice striker, alongside 2018-19, and fell short of the 23 goals recorded in 2020-21.
When Harry Kane was recently asked about the upcoming season he told Sky Sports: “Just to have another good year, another solid year to help the team as much as possible, try to score as many goals as I can.
"From a team point of view, [the aim] is always to win trophies. There's a good buzz around the club at the moment but you have to go out there and show what you can do when it's crunch time.
"We haven't done that enough for years - with this manager, with this team, we can really go on and try to do our best..." he concluded.
