La Liga president Javier Tebas has commented on Real Madrid's decision to sit out the Ballon d'Or award ceremony, saying the Madrid side are using the same practices in Spain.

The decision of the management of Real Madrid not to be in Paris for the awarding of the "Golden Ball" also caused a sensation among the people of La Liga.

In fact, the president of the Spanish league commented negatively on the decision of the "merenches" to stay away, while emphasizing that they follow these tactics within borders. Characteristically, Mr. Tebas said the statements of the president of La Liga:

"I admire Real Madrid. The important principles of such a club are to show class and shake the opponent's hand when they lose. But I think he lost that spirit a long time ago. He should have attended the ceremony normally and not challenged France Football's system which is transparent, with 100 journalists voting. Real are victimized, it's unnecessary and excessive. I don't know where he wants to go with it. And in Spain he does the same, we suffer from a lack of class."

And Mr. Tebas is absolutely right. The President of Real Madrid, the leading football organization in the world, should think better and not make hasty decisions!

Well done to Carvajal

Meanwhile, as Rodri revealed, the first compliments he received were... "royal". Rodri said the first person to congratulate him on his Ballon d'Or achievement was Real and Spain captain right-back Dani Carvajal.

"I spoke to Carvajal, he deserved the award too. The first call I got after leaving the event was from him. He is a footballer I am very close to, especially now that we are both suffering from the same injury. We share the same principles as people and he wanted to congratulate me," Rodri told Marca.
