The Piraeus club have made official the saturday`s 13th april the contract extension for one year with spanish head coach

José Luis Mendilibar, head coach of Olympiakos, greek historic club

I don't know how many have noticed it, but the steps Olympiacos has taken since the day Jose Luis Mendilibar sat on their bench are very decisive and big. Really, did anyone expect with the image the "red and whites" had before Basque  took over the technical leadership that he would get to the point of scoring three goals at Fenerbahce and everyone would be upset because the game ended 3-2.

The man who came to our country on February 10 watching the match with OFI from his suite in Karaiskakis, the next day he was officially announced doing his first training and two months later he has achieved a small miracle by extending his contract for the next year as well.

He took Olympiakos who looked like a team surrendered and without hopes in the league and Europe and has it at the moment at -4 from the top and one 90 minutes before the "4" of the Conference, ready to write the most "golden" European page of the club.

A manager with an attacking plan, similar to the DNA of the club, who does not settle for anything less than winning and who never stops hoping and dreaming.

The man who won Europe last year with Sevilla and this year dreams of the UEFA Conference League with Olympiaκos, which he has turned into a team in every sense of the word, playing good football and making the world happy for what he sees.

Jose Luis Mendilibar became the subject of the most popular media around the world, on the occasion of the renewal of his contract with Olympiacos.

Saturday (13/4) was an important day for Olympiakos. The Piraeus club have made official what has been a rumor for several days by extending Jose Luis Mendilibar's contract until 2025.

"The Spanish coach has signed the extension of his contract and will build the Legend of the next season!", the "red and whites" said in their official statement. Somehow, the Piraeus club decided to invest in the 63-year-old coach, giving him the "keys" of the 2024-25 season. This news went around the world, after popular foreign media made reference to the new contract of Mendilibar.

With coach Basque  at the helm, Olympiaκos is in "8" of the Conference League and remains alive in the championship claim, being only -4 from the top. Mendilibar has guided the port club through 13 games in all competitions to date, with a record of 10 wins and three losses.

What the foreign media reported about Mendlibar:

Kicker: "Just two months after his recruitment: Olympiacos extends Mendilibar's contract"

Haber Turk: "Olympiacos extended Mendilibar's contract"

Todo Mercado: "Olympiacos renewed Mendilibar's contract until 2025"

TRT Spor: "Olympiacos' new contract in Mendilibar"

Fichajes: "Olympiacos rewards Medilibar"
