Mats Hummels will become the 7th German to play for Roma

Hummels signed a one-year contract with the Giallorossi and was put under the guidance of Daniele De Rossi.

The international German central defender, who was released by Borussia Dortmund, after studying and carefully studying various proposals from either Premier League teams or Saudi Arabian teams, in the end preferred to remain in Europe, so he chose to continue his career of Italy and its beautiful capital, competing in the jersey of AS Roma. That is, the team which belongs to the American Friedkin and which has high ambitions for the new racing season.

Hummels, who was born in 1988 after successfully passing his medical, then signed a one-year contract with the Giallorossi and was put under the guidance of Daniele De Rossi.


Hummels chose the No15 jersey and will become the seventh German footballer in the history of the club. The first was center forward Jürgen Schütz (1963-1967), the second was central defender Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (1963-1965), third was also center forward Rudi Völler (1987-1992). Fourth was defender Thomas Berthold (1989-1991), fifth was midfielder Thomas Häßler, followed by tall stopper Antonio Rüdiger (2015-2016).


Newly acquired centre-back Mats Hummels has extensive international experience, making more than 600 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. 78 caps for Germany and 16 titles at club and national level, including the 2014 World Cup.


Roma fans were especially happy about Hummels joining their team and idolized him..
