Borussia Dortmund should be ready to make international Karim Adeyemi the most expensive new addition in the club's history. However, FC Barcelona apparently offers more money than BVB.

For weeks, poker for the services of Karim Adeyemi has dominated the headlines of the sports press at home and abroad.

A stay of the 19-year-old offensive jewel at Red Bull Salzburg beyond the summer of 2022 seems to be ruled out. Instead, numerous top clubs have long since put out feelers for the DFB newcomer.

While FC Bayern does not have any great chances in advertising for Adeyemi, BVB is reportedly very likely to have hopes for a transfer. A meeting of the designated sports director Sebastian Kehl with the object of desire is said to have already taken place. And the financial dimensions of the Dortmund offer are now seeping through.

BVB wants to go financially "to its pain limit"

According to "Sport1", BVB is ready to go financially "to its pain limit" for an Adeyemi commitment. Specifically, Borussia, is ready to transfer a transfer fee of 35 million euros including bonus payments to Salzburg.

Adeyemi would immediately become the most expensive new addition in the club's history. So far, Mats Hummels has been in the top spot in these statistics, with around 30.5 million euros going to FC Bayern when he returned to BVB in 2019.

In terms of salary, Adeyemi could cash in heavily in Dortmund, according to the report: BVB should offer him five million euros per year.

However, there is apparently another hot competitor for Borussia: FC Barcelona. The Catalans even offer 40 million euros in transfer and also more salary than the reigning DFB Cup winner, so "Sport1".
