The new big star of Bayern and by extension the German national team, Jamal Musiala stole the show on Saturday night (23/2) in the international friendly game against France (2-0) at the Groupama Stadium" in Lyon. The 21-year-old midfielder, who for the first time in his career wore the jersey with No. 10, was truly impressive. With elaborate actions and beautiful dribbles he danced his French opponents as he pleased. No one, or rather only a foul, could be stopped by his opponents.
He thus led the young and renewed team of Julian Nagelsmann to an important away victory, showing that the "punchers" are here and fully ready to parade successfully in the 17th European championship of the summer.
The German national team opened the scoring in just 7 seconds with a fantastic shot by Florian Wirtz that didn't allow the French goalkeeper, Brie Lloris-Samba to almost even see the ball...Kai Havertz made it 2-0 after a nice combination in the 49'.
Thus the German national team of Julian Nagelsmann actually scored with two passes. This, in fact, is the third time that France have conceded a goal in the first minute of a match. The first was 101 years ago! On April 2, 1923 against the Netherlands and the second 42 years ago. On June 16, 1982, England scored against them.
Musiala was born in Stuttgart (26/2/2003), but at the age of 2 he moved and grew up in the city of Fulda, near Frankfurt, because of his mother's studies. His mother is German of Polish origin, his father British-Nigerian.
From there, a battle will begin between two countries for which one will make him theirs. Typically, three countries, as he could compete with Nigeria, England and Germany. The country in which he was born and the country that welcomed him and developed his talent. The Germans are informed about Jamal's actions with England's U15. About a year later, Musiala will play with Germany's U16 team. And Germany may be his homeland, but he grew up in England.
At the same time, there is controversy over his collective future. Although he is in the extended Chelsea family, he will never become a Chelsea player. One reason is that with Brexit looming, the Musiala family is considering a return to Germany. The second that in addition to the Football Association of the country, he is also being watched by Bayern Munich, a team that is generally a pretty good prospect and his family likes him. Bayern are eyeing Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, but also Musiala.
Somehow, in the summer of 2019, Jamal returns to Germany for good, this time not because of his mother, but to join the Bayern Academies. There he will work with some great old aces, such as Miroslav Klose and Martin Demichelis. Musiala will play with the 2nd team and a year later, he will make his professional debut in the first team of the Bavarians. He is 17 years and 115 days old and will become the youngest footballer in the club's history in the Bundesliga, surpassing Alaba and Kroos among others.
Since then his improvement has been rapid and now he is preparing to write golden pages in his book starting from the 17th European Championship...
